Edinburgh International Book Festival

Edinburgh International Book Festival Logo

The Edinburgh International Book Festival is the largest Book Festival of its kind, with over 700 world-class writers and thinkers taking part in more than 800 events.

Thousands of visitors of all ages visit the Book Festival in August to debate, discuss and discover new horizons, take part in creative workshops and, of course, to meet favourite and new authors. The Book Festival’s acclaimed discussion and debate series has developed into something of a speciality, with topics as diverse as globalisation, religious fundamentalism, evolution, the politics of food and the environment.

Unlike many other Festivals everything at the Book Festival takes place in one, central location: a magical tented village in a beautiful, New Town square, creating a unique Festival environment.
