Frontier Blues

VENUE : Cineworld

FESTIVAL: Edinburgh International Film Festival

CATEGORY: Film

A melancholy, beautifully photographed comedy of lives lived on the borders. Developed during his Cannes Film Festival Cinefondation residency, Babak Jalali's droll and empathetic first feature follows a quartet of characters who live in the frontier territories of his own homeland, northern Iran. With its absurdist humour, its resonant images of urban and desert existence and its gentle insight into its characters' idiosyncrasies, Frontier Blues marks a confident launch for an auspicious feature film career.
