Festivals Edinburgh is the high-level organisation, created and managed by the directors of Edinburgh’s 12 major Festivals, to take the lead on their joint strategic development. Led by Director, Faith Liddell, Festivals Edinburgh works closely with the Festivals to enable, facilitate and deliver new, significant projects in a number of key strategic areas: joint marketing, programming, sponsorship, technology, environmental sustainability and professional development.
We act on behalf of and represent the collective strengths of the Edinburgh Festivals; develop and deliver collaborative projects and initiatives which support growth, product development, leadership and audiences, and help to sustain the Festivals and Edinburgh and Scotland’s pre-eminence as the world’s leading festival destination.

Key projects include:
- The Edinburgh Festivals Expo fund: created by the Scottish Government to provide the single largest showcase ever for Scottish companies and artists on the international platform of the Edinburgh Festivals, extending opportunity and ambition nationally and internationally for the festivals and the artists they promote and support.
- The Festivals’ first-ever joint marketing strategy and plan: supported by the Scottish Government, City of Edinburgh Council, VisitScotland, EventScotland and Scottish Enterprise to innovatively and comprehensively promote the Festivals to new, untapped markets regionally, nationally and globally
- Collaborative working across the Festivals in key areas of mutual, over-arching interest: such as environmental sustainability and professional development
Such major initiatives, and indeed our organisation’s existence, are only made possible by the vision, expertise and leadership of each member Festival; and, essentially, the ambition, support and investment of our key funders: the Scottish Government, City of Edinburgh Council, EventScotland, Scottish Enterprise and the VisitScotland Growth Fund.
