The Edinburgh International Science Festival celebrates the wonders, inventions and innovations of the world of science and technology. Each year, hundreds of scientists and technologists, including familiar TV faces and Nobel Prize winners, share their passion with the public through a two-week programme of talks, shows and exhibitions.

The world’s first science festival and Europe’s largest continues to astound and amaze, confirming Edinburgh’s status as the cradle of the Enlightenment. Events happen in over 20 venues including the Royal Botanic Gardens, the McEwan Hall and the City Arts Centre, giving children and adults a head-spinning new perspective on the world around us.

In 2012, the festival will be running from the 30th March -15th April at a range of venues around the city, as great adults and childrens' programmes explore the nature of the world around us. You can look out for the Edinburgh International Science Festival Programme around the city from the 7th Febraury 2012.
