Edinburgh One of Europe's Top 25 Places to Visit
TripAdvisor Users Rate Edinburgh A 'Must-See'
Those lucky visitors who have been to Edinburgh will know that the beauty and atmosphere of the city is just one of the factors that makes the Edinburgh Festivals simply un-missable. But now- we have proof.
Well- known travel website Trip Advisor has named Edinburgh one of the top 25 cities to visit in Europe- the only city in the United Kingdom to be named in the survey. The TripAdvisor website makes mention of the 'dramatic windswept hills' and historical significance of Edinburgh.
Barbara Clark, head of communications at VisitScotland, had the following to say about Edinburgh's win: "There's absolutely no doubt the festivals are a huge international draw. They get people talking about the city, and they see it at its best whether it is theatre groups, book or jazz fans in the summer or people coming to the winter festival. There is tremendous television worldwide coverage too of the Hogmanay celebrations."
