Edinburgh's Jazz and Blues Festival Launches
Jazz fans heading to Edinburgh this summer are in for a treat. The Jazz and Blues festival is full of the top notch collaborations that make the Edinburgh Jazz and Blues festival one of the most exciting jazz festivals in the world.
The Jazz festival, the largest in the UK, has unveiled an exciting new lineup that includes performances by China Moses- widely regarded to be the most exciting new jazz singer in the world- as well as other Jazz and Blues talents such as Kevin Mackenzie , Curtis Stigers and the Canned Heat Woodstock Reunited Band, who are playing in Edinburgh for the first time in 15 years.
A brand new collaboration between the Edinburgh Jazz and Blues Festival, the Mela and the Storytelling Festival will take place in the Botanical Gardens. ‘Naturally Inspired’ will consist of a series of planned and impromptu events scattered throughout the beautiful space.
One of the most exciting world premieres will be the Scottish Expo Fund supported Clandemonium, a Scottish jazz Flashmob event led by Tom Bancroft.
The sultry sounds of Jazz will echo across the Grassmarket in two free events- Jazz Al Fresco and annual Mardi Gras, bringing the feel of New Orleans to the historic cobbled streets of Edinburgh.
The Jazz and Blues festival is designed to appeal to the whole spectrum of music-lovers, from new Jazz enthusiasts to fanatics. The 110 110 concerts will cover the entire history of jazz music, from early ragtime to the contemporary and cutting edge sounds.

"The Scottish Jazz Expo 2010 demonstrates the Festival’s ongoing commitment to nurturing Scotland’s musical talent, creating new music and promoting innovative projects. The entire programme, including this year's Expo projects, will showcase the best in the Jazz and Blues to local, national and international audiences and I wish the Festival every success."
